Over the past two weeks, I’ve been immersed in completing my piano collage—a project that had been sitting unfinished for some time. As a music enthusiast, I find grand pianos particularly captivating; they’re often seen not just as instruments but as elegant furniture pieces in homes.

The piano’s main body is crafted from various black and white fabrics, complemented by vibrant, slightly abstract flowers from a fabric line I discovered. Working with these small pieces was a meticulous process as I aimed to create a harmonious design. It took considerable effort to arrange them just right, ensuring the image matched my vision before I began quilting them in place.

One of my favorite aspects of quilting is free motion work, though it can be physically demanding. Adjusting the quilt to achieve precise thread placement requires frequent changes of thread and needle. Adding musical notes to the quilt was a personal touch, enhancing its thematic resonance.
